Seriously, who secretly doesn’t want to be able to competently balance on their hands? Most people I meet are intrigued, in awe of the wonders and capabilities of the human body and ability to defy gravity.
The practice of hand balancing awakens that child like energy that you experienced as a child when you didn’t have any fear and believed anything was possible! Handstands can give you an amazing feeling, It’s up lifting, fun and euphoric but you have to train hard for it. It can take years of dedicated practice before you even feel like you’ve mastered the basics, but it’s so worth it if you want it, and the good news is, you can! The sense of accomplishment that goes with learning anything new is so rewarding and let’s face it, you’ll feel like a bad ass!
Tracey started her handstand journey in 2014 at the age of 44. She was never trained in gymnastics, (which is fairly obvious when you see her perform a forward roll, ha ha) which is an example of the fact that it’s never too late to learn new things.
Tracey runs handstand workshops at Bounce New Malden, London. She is also available for one-on-one sessions and on-line training for those that want to work at their own pace whilst be supported.
